St. Peter, the Rock

Why did God call my 3 children, me, and Sarah Palin to hockey? For a purpose to witness to Jesus' words in Matthew 16:15, "But who do you say that I AM?" Simon Peter said,"You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God." Jesus said to Peter."Blessed are you,Peter,My Heavenly Father has revealed this to you" Just like Paul when he spoke in Galatians 1:15-16 and said," But when God who from my mother's womb had set me apart and called me through His grace was pleased to reveal His Son to me so that I might proclaim Him to the Gentiles. I too was set apart and called by Christ.Jesus said to Peter in Matthew 16:18-19,You are Peter and upon this rock,I will build My Church and the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it. In Greek Petros and Petra(Peter means rock)( I attended a concert in Ga. and the group was named Petra and General David Petraeus spells Petra too and Robert Gates are the gates!) Jesus told Peter that I will give you the keys to the Kingdom of God.The promise of the keys is given to Peter alone! The Keys represent authority,the Supreme power given by God to Peter to unlock the gates of the Kingdom of Heaven so that the faithful may enter into it.Jesus' Church means the community of believers that He will gather and that like a building will have Peter as its solid ,stone foundation. The function of Peter is being the witness to proclaim that Jesus is the Messiah,the Son of the living God. Peter exercised his leadership role authority over the Apostolic Church before and after the descent of the Holy Spirit. After the outpouring of the Holy Spirit,Peter delivered his first sermon in the history of the church. He stood with authority to deliver a magisterial address and took charge of the development of Church doctrine.Peter spoke speeches or cured in Jesus' name in Acts 1:13,1:15,2;14,3:12,3:18.Simon Peter also called Peter,his name was listed in importance first in these Gospels Matthew 10:2,Mark 3:16-18,Mark 9;2,Matthew 17;1,Luke 9:28,Mark 14:33. And when Peter witnessed to Who Christ was He said "You are the Christ" (Mark 8:29)"The Christ of God"(Luke 9:20) and "You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God"(Matthew 16:13) Also in a moment of crisis for the disciples, Peter asked the Lord,To Whom shall we go, You have the words of eternal life?We have believed and come to know that You are the Holy One of God(John 6:68-69) Lord also said to Peter at the Last Supper,"And when you have returned again,strengthen your brethren."(Luke 22:32) "This is the task of all the successors of Peter to be the leader in the profession of Faith in Christ"said Pope Benedict XVI.The Roman See is the chair of St.Peter.St.Peter was the first Bishop of Rome, the 1st Pope. and St.Benedict XVI is the 265th successor of St. Peter. God chose hockey and Sparkey ,the Cockatiel for a purpose of sending us on a mission to proclaim the message of the keys and to equip us to accomplish this mission.(Mission, Warrior,Bauer,and Easton were names of companies that gave my children the equipment(skates,sticks,helmet...)The cockatiel represented Katie the coordinator at the Potomac in-line rink(Tom in Potomac was doubting Thomas and Thomas Moore and Lin,my name in in-line. The Cock in Cockatiel represented when the cock crowed when Peter denied Jesus 3 times. God also used the sport of baseball which Sam has had a passion for the sport all his life.The baseball team we watched while we were living outside of Denver,Colorado was the Rockies (Rock and Keys) Bobby Cox(cocks) is the name of our manager of our team the Braves.It is also the name of the media Cox(tv and computer) we watched and read about these games on Cox! God called the word lie as seen in my boys hockey team, Pope Paul VI Panthers goalie(lie) was used for a purpose! I'll tell more about the lie later. God bless.Lin
